The Dumbleton Society

The Dumbleton Society is a registered charity (number 1067093)

It works for the conservation of the heritage of the village and for a vibrant village life.

Among its recent achievements are:

  • the compilation of village records (held in the Village Hall)
  • the production of a CD of village archives (can be bought in the shop)
  • the production of a leaflet of local walks (ditto)
  • the erection of an interpretative panel in the park
  • the development of this web site.

We have a good record in raising funds for community and heritage projects - e.g. for a walnut tree planted on the traffic island at the north end of the village, the restoration of the fountain, running a training course in IT skills and the above mentioned interpretative panel in the park.

The society does not at present have an active membership but the current Chair, David Roscoe (01386 882108) and Vice Chair, David Braham (01386 882092) are always happy to hear from people interested in carrying out projects in the village on behalf of the society.
